This trip takes you to Nubra valley- a valley on the other side of the Khardung la, home to the great Deskit monastery, white sand dunes and double humped camels. The tour ends in the famous Pangong lake, situated above 4000m near the Chinese border.
Our representative will meet you upon your arrival at Leh airport and transfer you to the hotel. Use the day to rest and acclimatize. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Morning proceed to visit of the most important monasteries of central Ladakh along river Indus. We start with Shey Gompa, Shey it was the ancient capital of Ladakh. The monastery has a huge copper gilded image of Sakayamuni Buddha and a large silver lamp burning in front of the statue. The visit beautifully located Thiksay Gompa, the monastery is a cluster of prayer rooms and monastic cells oon the slope of a mountain rising in tier upon tier above the village. The Chamba Dhukang enshrines a huge Maitraya Buddha. The last visit is a drive further down to the largest and the richest Hemis Gompa, wander through dim lit prayer halls with exquisite thankas, paintings, murals and silver stupas. After a rich day, we drive back to Leh. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Drive from Leh to Hunder early morning. The drive is via the world's highest motorable road Khardung-La (5,578 m). Savor the beautiful view from the top of the world. Enter Nubra Valley situated along river Shayok. The valley is covered with dense thickets of seabuckthorn. We drive past the main capital Diskit and in another 9 kms we reach the small village of Hunder (3,048 mt) dominated by sand dunes. Overnight stay in tents at Hunder.
Spend the day exploring Hunder & Diskit.
In the morning visit Chamba monastery of Hunder and then start the Camel Safari on the double-humped Bactrian camels, which in olden days were the main mode of transport on the Ladakh-Yarkhand (Turkmanistan) trade. The Safari goes along the soft white-sand deserts with rolling sand dunes. Post the safari, proceed to explore Diskit Village. Being the main town of Nubra, it has a small market bustling with activity. Also visit Diskit Gompa, situated on a rocky spur above the village providing a spectacular view of the valley. Overnight stay in camps.
In the morning we drive to Tegger village (3,146 mt). Upon arrival visit surmur village off the main road which is one of the most charming villages of Nubra. Then visit Samstanling Gompa. In the afternoon start Camel Safari to reach Pinchimic. The Safari is comparatively short and goes along the river where the valley is well spread. Arrive in Pinchimic and overnight stay in tents.
Start the last leg of the Camel Safari to Panamic in the morning . En route visit a beautiful lake chucked between two small hills. Check in at the camps upon arrival. In the afternoon explore Panamic Village. During the trade between Central Asia and Ladakh, Panamic was the last major settlement before the caravans cross the Karakoram range. Today, Panamic is a sleepy village, with its people quietly working in their fields. End the day with a visit to the thermal hot springs locally reputed to have therapeutic qualities. Overnight stay in tents.
Morning visit Ensa Gompa located across the river, clinging precariously to the mountain surrounded by few trees. Today we will continue our journey towards Pangong Lake 14,500 ft via Shayok. Arrival at Camp. Enjoy the color changing lake and the sun set on the banks of lake. Overnight on the banks of Pangong Lake.
Take a fresh aired morning walk along the banks of the lake before restarting our journey back to Leh through Changla Pass 17,350 ft. (third Highest Motorable road in the world). Overnight in Leh hotel.

Morning transfer to the airport and fly back to Delhi with sweet memories of Ladakh.
